Ad 1: Adaptation, as cryptically stated on the titlepage, from Von Pfaus' work. The map and all plates aptly recut by JL van Beek and rendered in Dutch, but the text seriously mutilated. Best known for the fine illustrations, the majority by J. Hoynck van Papendrecht. Covers the period 1795-1900. The last 16 plates depict uniforms used in the former Dutch East- and West-Indies.
